The photo of the month for February is of several dogs on a northern California beach. They were all trying to get the same ball, although the little black one on the outside right, who is mine, was actually running after the other dogs, not the ball; she just never got that ball thing but loves other dogs! The first photo shows the image after I edited it using Lightroom as usual. Then I decided it might look good in black and white, so in Lightroom I converted it to black and white. But, when looking at the hills in the background —which almost seemed to be a texture or screen—, I thought it might also look good as a black and white image with a textured background. I added the texture using Luminar 2018. I'll let you be the judge of which one looks best. I like this photo because the dogs show such all-out joy at running on the beach leash-free and trying to get the ball from each other. Animals, to me, are so enchanting as they just enjoy every moment in life (at least the animals that are loved and cared for). Gracie has no idea that some animals are not treated well and she would be shocked to find that out! I tend to like photos with a background texture; I think it does add impact in some way to many images.
