I read in an online news site today President Trump has curtailed American travel to Cuba, even travel that has been occurring for many years under a "people-to-people" visa permit. I went to Cuba in December 2018. Oddly, I just created the piece below a few days ago, just prior to reading the online information. When I created the composite I wanted it to represent the people and the place and to include the hope, the diversity, the riches and the decay. I found Cuba, specifically Havana where I visted, to be a place of dichotomies. I do believe this latest move to completely stop Americans from visiting will hurt the people in Cuba more than the Cuban government as so many people eke out a living due to tourism. Mostly likely, and hopefully so, tourism from other countries will increase and people will continue to provide a living for their families. I hope this photography composite is a good story-telling piece of the Cuban life in Havana.
